In carp and bottom fishing, the braided line can serve as a main line, shock leader or leader material, and each of these roles carries a different load. Here you will find eight- and four-thread options, leaders, icecore and ready leaders. Start with the rigging and pitch, then choose diameter, strength and length.

As a main line can be used braided line Daiwa J-BRAID EXPEDITION X8 DARK, whose variants run from PE#0.6 to PE#1.5. The eight-ply construction uses Izanas filaments, and Silicon Coating PE forms a thinner and smoother braid with increased hydrophobic properties. This is a meaningful example when you are looking for sensitivity and clearly set values, not just thicker fishing line.

For a power cast or a section with underwater bulkheads, the individual braided shock leader is a more accurate solution than random thickening of the entire line. He must take the sharp load, but his connection to the main fishing line remains critical. Make the knot compact, wet it when tightening and check if it passes calmly through the guides when trial casting.

PE designation, diameter in millimetres and stated strength should not be read separately. Compare them to the mass of the mount, the expected distance, the drag of the reel and the likelihood of the fish getting to the tease. At a clean bottom, the excessively rough line may be superfluous; among obstacles leave a stock that meets the risk. Compare strength in the same unit of measurement so you don't overestimate it.

At the leaders, think also about the way the final rig lies on the bottom. The ledcord, finished leader and soft knit fishing line are not interchangeable just because they stand behind the main line. Check how they connect to the swivel, clip or fast connection and whether the diameters allow clean, reliable rig without cluttering around the final rig.

After fishing, examine the area around the knots and the first loaded meters. A fishing line with a jagged thread, flattened profile or visible damage is not left for the next heavy caste. Arrange the reserve leaders separately, without sharp folds, and adjust the drag again when changing diameter; the old setting may not match the new line.

When you arrange the rig from the main line on, fishing lines and leaders for carp fishing help to match the fishing line to the occasion part.
