The size is selected according to the volume and method of bait placement, as well as according to the whole rig method. Don't rely on numbering alone: look at the real width of the curve, the length of the stem and the place that remains free. Then check whether the finished leader is connected purely to the intended swivel or quick-change connection. Also, establish if its length fits the feeder and how you feed the rig.

The barb holds differently from the non-contiguous hook and influences the unhook, so comply with the rules of the fishing venue and its personal rig.
