ABS®Anti-Backlash System
The super system that allows long hauls and reliably prevents the line from twisting. DAIWA reels with ABS spools, are constructed in such a way that they have a reel guide with a very large diameter that gets larger towards its top. In this way, the fishing line develops on wide windings and very evenly and the twisting of the line is prevented. Thanks to this system, casting has also improved significantly.
drag system ATD/Type-L
The second generation of the ATD drag system. It works more smoothly and delivers the corrected resistance with almost no momentum. The sound of the drag clicker has also been improved.
Airdrive Design®
A silky smooth pulley stroke you've never felt before.
The future of DAIWA reels is in AIRDRIVE Design technology. By reducing the weight of the rotor, spool and bearings, a much lighter and perfect stroke was achieved. The effortless spinning allows the angler to feel the true joy of fishing. This new chapter begins with Daiwa 22 Exist.
Improvements in the aftermath of Airdrive design technology:
-
Better reel balance - 16% lighter front module compared to 18' Exist (#2500). Weight and balance optimization allows for improved control when fishing.
-
Better move on the reel - The spool sensitivity and control has been greatly improved. Low inertia allows anglers to experience a fast response and a super smooth move. The new AIRDRIVE rotor starts immediately and boosts control.
-
Line problems are minimized By combining the advantages of Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail and Twistbuster III technology, 22’ Exist is the most perfect reel ever produced by Daiwa.
Twistbuster III
With the launch of Exist ’22, Daiwa manages to improve existing technology Twistbuster II, to move on to the next stage Twist Buster III. Another type of groove was added to the line roll, with the result being a reduced effect of line flattening and a minimalized % twisting of the line. Daiwa also replaces the standard bigella bearing with the Magsealed one to protect it from the severe effects of salt water and extend its life to the maximum.
Airdrive spool
A design that reflects the future. The outstanding features of the AIRDRIVE Spool are the newly shaped lower part of the spool and the single silver color in which it is painted. Just by looking at the reel, it becomes clear that the structure has been reworked, reducing weight and increasing the sense of presence. Reducing the weight of the reel creates many advantages - the total weight is reduced, oscillation is improved, less resistance during winding and rotation, better balance when fastening to the rod. In addition, DAIWA engineers have added an edge to the bottom of the reel to prevent a line from falling under the spool and thus resulting in entanglement around the main axle. The sound of the avanas system has also been redesigned to be clearer and more distinct.
Airdrive rotor
Weak momentum is the key. The lighter rotor increases functionality in smaller sized spinning reels. The lighter and more compact rotor requires less rotational force, creating this feeling of weak inertia and easy starting of the reel. The new rotor Airdrive is made of Zaion material. His health is the same as that of Exist 18, but his weight is reduced. The rotor weight was reduced by 16% relative to its predecessor.
Airdrive shaft Rotation without friction.
The vertical rotation force from the handle is converted from the gear to horizontal rotation. The main shaft passes through the gear for support during the pulley stroke. To create a smoother stroke and rotation, an improvement of the main shaft and gear was needed. Most DAIWA spinning reels use a linear shaft that has a contactless structure between the main shaft and the gear wheel itself. The linear shaft creates less friction resistance, resulting in smoother rotation along with minimal power loss. The newly developed AIRDRIVE Shaft took the same benefits as well as being further improved. AIRDRIVE shaft also has a contactless structure between the main shaft and the gear. In addition to this, both ends of the gear are now supported with bearings to transmit power from the handle to the rotor with a higher level of efficiency. The AIRDRIVE Shaft creates the feeling of smoothness, quiet rotation and provides anglers with power and reliability.
Airdrive bail Seamless Future.
AIR BAIL's well-known DAIWA technology has been further improved with the AIRDRIVE. concept AIRDRIVE is the next evolutionary step in the design of the bigeel and ideally combined with the new concept Airdrive design. The DAIWA was able to design a slightly thinner bigeel that nevertheless offered the necessary strength and further reduced the weight of the reel. Compared to 18 Exist, the weight of the new bigel was reduced by 33% (in 2500 size). DAIWA engineers adjust the angle of attachment of the bigeel to the reel, thus improving the line movement in the roll.
CrossWrap®
Technology that allows the fishing line to be precisely rolled on the reel without gaps and loose.
Thus, casting distances increase significantly.
CRBB®
CRBB is an abbreviation of Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearing. These are saltwater resistant, stainless ball bearings. CRBB ball bearings are up to 12 times more resistant to corrosion than ordinary ball bearings.
DIGIGEAR®
Machine-made, digitally developed gear for maximum performance and durability. Smoothly and efficiently transmits power from the handle directly to the rotor. DAIWA engineers have fully advanced the technology of milled gears with Digigear II. The shape and surface of the gears condition a perfectly smooth running, without any resistance and unrivalled time endurance.
HiGrip® Handle knob
The latest T-Type handle knob is extremely lightweight and thanks to the HiGrip material, very pleasant to handle, even with wet fingers.
INFINITE® Anti-reverse
Weak part of many mechanisms, but one of the most reliable when it comes to DAIWA. Only high quality steel parts were used for the workmanship, with minimal deviations allowed.

LT – Light & Tough

DAIWA continues to develop his dream of developing revolutionary fishing reels. Fishing reels with low weight and perfect design - real masterpieces. Produce reels for fishing, strong enough to withstand even the harshest conditions. The combination of these two prerequisites is an achievement of „Light & Tough“. Now, after long and long tests, and many challenges, this dream has come true. We are proud to introduce to you the concept of Daiwa „Light & Tough“.
LT technology introduces new, reduced reel sizes, but makes them stronger than ever. Compact body design, but with stronger Digigear gears, for the perfect combination of lightness and strength.
The engineers of Daiva were given 6 solving tasks so that future reels would be lighter and stronger. The specific purpose of the concept Light & Tough.
Task No 1: Dimension Reduction (Compact construction) The engineers of DAIWA seek to remove unnecessary weight without sacrificing reel strength and resistance while maintaining the same line capacity. The revised, smaller profile and super reliable mechanism, transform LT the Daiwa reels in one of the most durable on the market!
Task No 2: Lighter and stronger reel body Zaion and DS5 are incredibly strong carbon-based composite materials developed by DAIWA TECHNOLOGY. Carbon composite makes reels lighter and stronger, unlike ordinary materials. And because these materials are not metal, they never corrode when used in salt water. Lightweight, robust and extremely durable - the perfect materials for reliable reels.
Task No 3: More durable transmission mechanism Preserving the merits of Digigear, we considered how to make the gear harder than ever. We have studied all aspects; diameter, thickness, shape and size of teeth. We experimented and tested everything one by one, perfecting and improving every element. The result is a jump in the level of Digigear in the direction of endurance.
Task No 4: A more reliable drag We combined various improvements; internal support of the spool, the mechanism design, and the drag button to further improve ATD Technology. LT reels offer an unrivalled ratio between size and drag power.
Task No 5: Lighter aluminum spools After a total redesign of the spools - the shape, size and thickness, the Daiwa engineers achieved a drop in the weight of the reel, creating a very light aluminum spool. LT The spools are lighter by their predecessor Air Spool, made of ABS material, thus greatly improving the reel balance.
Task No 6: Lighter handles Maintaining the required level of strength and endurance for fishing, we have reshaped and perfected the handle arm. This new design contributes to the superb lightweight weight of the reel.
MAGSEALED®
Magsealed is a technology designed to prevent water, dust particles or salt crystals from penetrating between the rotor and the body of the reel. As far as possible, Daiwa engineers have developed the „barrier“, almost friction-free, based on magnetic oil, which can hardly be overcome by either water or the smallest particles. The result is a silky smooth movement of the mechanism.
Magsealed Body Design - In most cases, salt crystals and other solid particles are responsible for the unpleasant winding noises as well as the loss of smooth movement. Of course, accidents can also lead to similar results. Despite all these situations, cases of unpleasant winding noises are significantly reduced in reels where Magsealed Body Design. is incorporated
Magsealed Line Roller - The more smoothly the roll turns at the bigeel, the less friction appears between it and the fishing line. If delicate salt crystals or dirt particles penetrate the roll, it begins to drag and friction is greatly increased. The MagSealed magnetic oil forms the „barrier“, which prevents water from penetrating, therefore salt and dirt particles into the roll almost entirely, which can affect the unobstructed rotation of the roll.
Magsealed Ball Bearing - Thanks to targeted research and development, Daiwa engineers were able to integrate MagSealed technology into a ball bearing. This results in a longer life and silky smooth movement for a long period. A real revolution in the reel mechanism!
Monocoque Body Design
We not only developed the concepts and technologies LT, TOUGH DIGIGEAR, AIR BAIL, AIR ROTOR and ZAION, but also MONOCOQUE BODY DESIGN.
Lightweight and rugged design, like a Formula 1 race car.
Since the first spinning reels, it has been understood that they consist of two parts a body and a lid. With its performance in 2016. Monocoque Body Design, it breaks these understandings into pieces. The Monocoque design makes the reel much more durable and extends its life while retaining its compact size. Thanks to this technology, it is not necessary to use bolts to fasten the bonnet to the body, thus providing space for a larger gear and a RESPECT ively more powerful gear. A gear wheel can be placed in the reel housing to occupy approximately 85 % of its volume.
