Here the larger number should not be compared mechanically to the numbering of another form without regard to actual proportions.

Match the hook first with the bait, then with the thickness of the lead and the load of the rig. The right long shoulder, wide curve and medium thickness lead to different performance, so don't choose solely by the color of the coating. In a diving lip pattern, the coils should be flat, tight and stacked on the shoulder, without the fishing line going through a sharp edge.

Look at the blade as you tie it, not sliding it down the nail with pressure. Check the barb for deformation and interrupt the cause if the fishing line is injured around the diving lip.
