Krasi Lokala: Dospat Reservoir - great fishing for crucian carp and roach /10.07.2025/
Hello everyone, yesterday I had planned a fishing trip on our wonderful Rhodope dam
"Who has not seen the Rhodopes in his life, he has not seen Bulgaria!“ - Ivan Vazov
I am arriving at 7:00 h at the dam, and I have already met Bat Dragi and Lyubashka, who are targeting perch without tension. For the day I purposely took some equipment the chair Daiwa N’zon, 1 bag and 2 feeder rods, so if I have to move in search of the fish I can be quick in the picking. I stretched out in haste, measured a distance of 42 m, being a little ahead of the grasses that abound in this bay. Daiwa Airity X-slim 3.60m/70g, Daiwa Tournament 4010 QD, main line Daiwa Tournament Sinking Braid 0.14mm with ready-made Power Gum rig of Daiwa, which I have written about more than once and it is in the pictures in this post.
I fed with 10 Baskets N’zon Prebait Window, and for starters I put the same model Window basket only that 40 g size Medium, as the depth was about 6 m. Yeah, but fishing very bad, for 2/3 hours I twisted everything and except for 5 babushki, 5 perch and 2/3 chaushana and it was pretty stretched in time, things didn't work out. Just a total lack of fish. Drago left and we agreed that they would go through the Fish Port to check if there was any fishing. I hung out 30 min in change of different leaders, bait etc., until Drago called me that there is fishing on the fish, folded the luggage and moved for 0 time.
I chose a place between 2 tufts of seaweed so I could safely fish out and since the bay is not big I prepared the other feeder set for fishing Daiwa Tournament-S Feeder 3.30m/40gr with reel Daiwa 24 N’zon 5000 basic fishing line Daiwa Tournament Sinking Braid 0.12mm and again the same rig. I liked my point on 18 m, with a depth of about 2.5/3 m.
I fed again with a few baskets and with the first cast a roach settled in the kepa.
Fishing went hard, but as the day progressed with good rhythm and constant feeding of food and seeds (wheat and sweet corn) the fish settled in front of me and got a wonderful fishing. However, they were capricious 0.75oz peak, leader 0.10 Tournament Fluorocarbon with length 80 cm and No 16 hook. Best bait was 1 strung white or 1/3 from corn grain. The basket 30 gr window, with which I quickly went through the cleats to not be bothered on the way to the bottom. I hunted mainly crucian carp, perhaps in the 70/30 ratio to roach. The weather was great with maximum temperature up to 20 degrees.
Special thanks to my kind hosts for their advice and help. Greetings to all colleagues and see you again at the watercourses.
