Check how the ring lies in the ear of the bait, hook or swivel. The ends should close tightly, without misalignment and a sharp edge to the fishing line. Open with special pliers, not by twisting with a hook or knife. After changing, examine whether the connected parts move freely and do not weld at an angle.
In swivel, the main landmarks are the size, shape, smooth rotation and declared strength. A small swivel saves weight, but there must be sufficient stock for the target fish and the load when casting. If it will be used in salt water, inspect the coating after each outing and separate a component with stains, roughness or a blocked body.
The hook is selected separately from the ring. Check the width of the bend, length of the stem, thickness of the wire, type of ear and tip condition. In assist rig, check the connection between the hook and cord, as well as the distance to the lure. The number is not the same physical measure in all series.
Assemble the rig at home and load it smoothly with protected hands, without sharp pulls. Make sure the knots don't touch the slit of the ring and the hooks don't get caught in each other. After sea fishing rinse with clean water, dry completely and replace every detail with visible deformation.
For accurate comparison use swivels and hangers, separately swivels and hangers for sea fishing, and Hooks and Spinning hooks. Thus, OS-06 and the rest of ODZ components are rated according to their place in the rig, without expanding the scope beyond the confirmed rings, swivels and hooks.
