Set of 9 Microwave guides (tip-top guide not included) for building a spinning rod. The Micro Wave guides are produced by the American company American Tackle. This is an innovative guide system that won the "Innovation of the Year" - Innovation of the Year award at EFTTEX - 2013 and the award "Best of Show - Fishing Accessory" at ICAST 2013.The system has gone through 1500 tests on rods fitted with Microwave guides and a size 3000 reel. The tests show longer and more accurate casting with reduced overall rod weight. As expected, the main critical points for this effect are the first and second guides from the handle. They have the strongest influence on casting distance and accuracy.
In simple terms, this system allows the line coming off the reel spool in wide coils to be collected through the first guide with a 20 mm diameter into a small guide with a 6 mm diameter. In this way, the free line does not pass through 2-3 large guides, but is immediately fixed into a small 6 mm guide. With this solution, the number of guides is reduced first, the spinning rod becomes lighter, and casting accuracy and distance are significantly increased. The tip-top guide is not supplied in the set because the variation in tip size on a spinning rod is an individual choice.
For installation:
  • Place the first guide (the largest one) at a distance of about 50 cm from the reel.
  • The second should be 78 cm from the reel, and the following guides of equal size should be distributed evenly at your discretion along the blank, from 101 cm from the reel to the tip.
  • These are the recommended distances for fitting the guides.
  • The guide set also includes an installation diagram in reverse order, from the tip towards the reel, for spinning rods with lengths of 1.80, 2.00, 2.15 and 2.30 metres.
