Super lightweight, powerful, and extremely sensitive. The DAIWA Ballistic Air stands out with its low weight and exceptionally smooth operation. The MQ construction with an enlarged drive wheel ensures optimal power transmission and high durability – an ideal solution for fishing with lighter tackle when additional power reserves are still needed. The Zaion body provides a completely twist-resistant structure for the internal mechanism, guaranteeing long-lasting, silky smooth performance and feel. The CNC-machined aluminum gear is extremely strong and offers impressive durability even under frequent and intense loads. The Airdrive concept incorporates the latest DAIWA technologies in spinning reels. The lightweight and twist-resistant Airdrive rotor, made from Zaion V material, shifts the center of gravity toward the lower part of the body, providing better balance and sensitivity. The ultra-light Airdrive spool further reduces weight at the front of the reel. The new spool lip design minimizes friction and supports longer casts. The Airdrive shaft is almost contact-free and guided by bearings in the pinion, ensuring exceptional sensitivity and smooth rotation during fishing. The Airdrive bail minimizes the risk of line tangling around the bail arm and roller – especially useful in crosswinds or when using thin lines. The ATD Type-L drag guarantees instant and smooth line release under load.
